Power an IP phone from a USB port

So – you need to work from home, but your office IP phone doesn’t have a mains plug, as it usually powers off PoE (Power over Ethernet). myVolts USB to DC Ripcord power cable makes it really handy, you can power your IP phone straight off your laptop’s USB port.

You can power your IP phone from a any USB port – side of a laptop, inexpensive USB power bank, USB hub etc. using Ripcord USB to DC power cable by myVolts. It’s a useful alternative to powering the phone over PoE, or from a regular wall socket.

The video shows a Yealink IP phone which takes 5V. Cisco, Storm, Snom phones and most other IP phones take 5V. Link to buy the 5V Ripcord here: https://myvolts.co.uk/product/25761/Power_Supply_and_Chargers/Ripcord_USB_to_5V_DC_power_cable_compatible_with_the_Cisco_PA100_PSU-part

Some model of IP phones take 12V, or 9V so check your phone before you buy. myVolts has 12V and 9V Ripcords too, for these models.
