You dirty Rat

The ProCo Rat is a very cool distortion pedal, used by some of the most influential rock guitarists of all time.
Legends such as as Thurston Moore, Kevin Shields, and that bloke out of Pink Floyd have all relied on the Rat’s distinctive tone to make unforgettable sounds through the decades.

If you’re getting a Rat, especially on eBay or secondhand, you need to watch out when you’re getting a power adaptor for it as there’s a bit of variation. I’ll explain how to make sure you get the right one.

Roku 3 – how to choose the right PSU

The Roku 3 burst on the scene in 2013 – it’s a very small, very cool little media streamer, which does Netflix, Plex and lots of other free and paid services, and plays almost all file formats.

It was released first in America, and lots of folks couldn’t wait and ordered them from the US, as there was no release date scheduled for elsewhere.

It shipped with a US power adaptor only, and I got lots of queries asking if we had a suitable power adaptor.

Of course, we did – and after I established it was 12V and the power input size, we started selling

“Another mystery solved” I thought – but I was wrong!

A cable to help you label

I like to label things.

Labels define, add clarity, and put order on chaos. To make a good label, you have to consider the nature of the thing you want to label, and how you want others to interact with it.

I’ve got a nice little label maker – the Dymo LetraTag LT-100H. It’s cheap, and makes nice labels – but it eats batteries. And it doesn’t come with a power adaptor.
